Eyelash extensions are becoming more and more popular with women and girls. No wonder, because with eyelash extensions, eyelash extensions or eyelash extensions or as it is said in English, the view intensifies and deepens. No mascara can compete with this individualisation, which also saves many minutes in front of the mirror every morning.

Selection of best eyelash adhesives

Identifying the best eyelash glue

Not all adhesives for eyelash extensions are the same. In fact, the hold of the eyelash depends primarily on the quality of the adhesive. Some are better than others. For example, each adhesive may have a different drying, binding and shelf life. Please note, however, that the binding time of an adhesive can easily be influenced by the ambient air. Depending on the stylist's level, an adhesive with a longer curing time is recommended to increase the speed. The more humid the air, the faster the curing time. For quick application and optimum results, it is recommended to use the eyelash extensions in a room with a humidity between 30 and 55 % and a temperature between 21 and 24°. As a rule, you should wait up to 24 hours until you can moisten your eyelashes again after application without affecting the artificial eyelashes.

In addition to the binding time, the price is also a quality indicator to be considered for eyelash glue: Good eyelash glue is usually somewhat more expensive. I'm sure you know the following sentence: "Eyes are precious.

This extremely important element of the application can change everything in the result, but also in the consequences. For a high quality eyelash extension glue you should therefore not save at the wrong end. High-quality adhesives are often produced by well-known brands that work with certified laboratories and formulas. We therefore work exclusively with the renowned brand SECRET LASHES and offer only SECRET LASHES products in our shop.

Important information on the use and storage of eyelash glue

Even the best lash extension adhesive can fail very quickly when used or stored in poor conditions. To get the effectiveness of an adhesive, here are some tips:

STORAGE:

- Do not expose to direct sunlight

- It is best to store the eyelash glue in an upright position.

- Cool, dark and dry storage at a temperature preferably between 15 and 21 degrees Celsius.

- Avoid temperature fluctuations

- Do NOT store the eyelash glue in the refrigerator due to the high humidity that forms.

APPLICATION:

- Before using a non-transparent e.g. black eyelash adhesive, always shake the container well so that the black colour pigments do not settle downwards. This is not necessary if the adhesive is transparent.

- To avoid contamination at the edge of the bottle, always apply the adhesive drop to the adhesive backing with a small gap. Then place the bottle upright so that the adhesive can run back completely and no residue forms in the bottle neck.

- Before closing, thoroughly remove any remaining adhesive from the edge of the bottle with a cloth.

- An adhesive that quickly forms threads despite optimal operating conditions must be replaced.

- In general, an eyelash glue can be used for the first 6 months after opening, provided it has been correctly applied for a long time. We therefore recommend that you write down the date of opening the bottle visibly to remember it.

What to do in case of eye irritation?

Some people are allergic to eyelash extension glue or simply to adhesives as a whole. However, it is very important to distinguish between an allergy and a reaction (irritation). An allergy can only be defined by a specialist such as a doctor or allergologist. A reaction may be caused by an uncleanly executed application.

In general, the first reactions occur 48 hours after application: The eyes are burning while they turn red, for example. These symptoms can be accompanied by severe itching of the eyelid. An allergy, on the other hand, often occurs within the first few seconds after the stylist has started eyelash lengthening.

In order to avoid these symptoms, it is advisable to follow the procedures learned during the eyelash extension training completely. These include, for example:

  • perfect make-up removal
  • the cleaning with an eyelash shampoo
  • the application of a primer

Other factors can also lead to eye irritation: eye pads that are too close to the mucous membrane of the eye, too large adhesive dots on natural eyelashes or the application of artificial eyelashes too close to the eyelid.

If this problem does occur, it is important that the client cleans her eye well with saline solution and, especially if the problem persists, returns to the stylist to assess whether removal is necessary and a doctor should be consulted.

Is it advisable for a customer with allergic reactions to attach new eyelash extensions?

First of all, it is again very important to distinguish the allergic reaction from a simple irritation. To remove any doubt about the allergic reaction, it is possible to apply a very small drop of glue to the inside of the arm or behind the ear of the client, as the skin in these areas is very thin and therefore reacts very quickly. For example, if the skin reddens or itches within the first few seconds, it is indeed better to avoid eyelash extensions. Otherwise it is not possible to determine whether the person is allergic to the adhesive without expert advice.

It should be noted that some eyelash extension adhesives are more suitable for sensitive eyes. This type of eyelash adhesive contains less cyanoacrylate than conventional adhesives, for example. It is also known that transparent adhesives that do not contain pigments release less vapor and are therefore more suitable.

In general, however, one can develop an allergy to almost any of the ingredients, so that in principle there is no real allergen-free eyelash glue that is suitable for every allergy sufferer.

In short, prudence and respect for the application are key elements to always achieve the highest customer satisfaction and an impeccable result for each application.
